Our Story
Most cafes close at 3. Most bars open at 5. We decided the best hours live in the gap between.
Albion Exempt started as a single espresso machine and a conviction: the people who gather here deserve better coffee than gas-station dark and better cocktails than neon-lit regret. We source single-origin beans from roasters who treat agriculture like an art form, and we build our cocktail program around ingredients you can actually pronounce.
The space on S Clinton was chosen because it's where Albion already happens — downtown, walkable, unpretentious. The interior is mostly raw concrete, reclaimed wood, and light. What you see is what you get: a room built for conversation, not performance.
The Space
Walk-ins welcome — no reservations needed for the bar. Private events and group bookings can be arranged by email.
Wi-Fi is available. Outlets at every table. Dog-friendly patio when the weather allows.
We serve local beer and wine. Full spirits menu available after 4 PM on weekdays, all day weekends.
